2025 New England Women's Amateur Championship

Eligibility: Players must be an active member in good standing of one of the NEGA State Golf Associations. There are two divisions for the New England Women's Amateur Championship. The Overall Championship division is open to players with a handicap index of 10.0 or less. This division will play from tees approximately 5,600 - 6,000 yards in length. The Senior Championship division is open to players 50 years of age or older, with a handicap index of 18.0 or less. This division will play from tees approximately 5,400 - 5,800 yards in length.  

 

Practice Rounds: Please read the FULL practice round notice below before contacting Haverhill Country Club. 

  • Practice Rounds may be booked no more than 3 days in advance of the day you wish to play. 
  • To book a practice round, please call the Haverhill CC Pro Shop during normal business hours and identify yourself as a competitor in the Championship - (978) 373-1146 x 4. 
  • Practice Rounds will be available during the date/time windows listed below - subject to tee sheet availability. These are the only windows during which practice rounds may be booked: 
    • Tuesday, 6/17 - Before 10:00am
    • Thursday, 6/19 - Before 10:00am or After 12:30PM
    • Saturday, 6/21 - After 3:00PM
    • Sunday, 6/22 - After 3:00PM
    • Monday, 6/23 - After 12:30PM
  • Players may play 1 practice round only, and will be paired up with other practice round competitors. 
  • The cost of a practice round is a Mandatory cart/trail fee - $25.50 (Credit Card ONLY)
  • Parents, caddies, etc. may accompany a competitor, but guests may not play.
  • Players and their guests are expected to follow all direction and guidelines from Haverhill CC including dress code, pace of play, and etiquette. 
  • A yardage chart to be used for practice rounds can be found by clicking the "Approx. Yardage Chart" link above. Please play the corresponding club tee marker on the day of your practice round. 

 

Format: Competition will be 54-holes stroke play over three days. The field will be cut to the low 50 players (Prorated based on field size within each of the two tee sets) after 36-holes. The cut will be distributed (by percentage) from each of the two divisions. The approximate breakdown of the cut is 33 players from the Championship and 17 players from the Senior Championship and the final cut distribution will be communicated on Monday, June 23rd. 

 

​Schedule - Championship Proper:
Round 1 - June 24 (18 Holes)
Round 2 - June 25 (18 Holes) *Cut to Low 50 players plus ties*
Round 3 - June 26 (18 Holes)
The lowest scorer for 54 holes will be Champion.
If a tie for first place occurs, play will immediately continue hole-by-hole until a winner is determined. If ties for other positions occur, duplicate merchandise certificates will be awarded.
 
Caddies & Automotive Transportation: Players may use caddies during play. A player is not required to employ a caddie for any round of the competition. Players shall be permitted to use automotive transportation during play. The cost of cart transportation is included in the entry fee for all competitors. Please Note: The NEGA does NOT permit the use of more than two golf carts per group. Players may be required to share a cart, and the availability of a seat in a golf cart for a caddy is not guaranteed. 

Food/Beverage: The NEGA will be providing a complimentary luncheon on June 24h & 25th for all players. Food & Beverage is available for purchase on the final day of the competition. 

Starting Times: When available after the close of entries, Round 1 Starting Times & Pairings can be found via the "Starting Times & Pairings" tab above. Round 2 starting times will be based on Round 1 Score, with Championship Division players playing prior to Senior Championship players. Round 3 pairings will be based on cumulative score with Senior Championship players playing prior to Championship players.

Inclement Weather/Cancelled Round Stipulation: The NEGA reserves the right to alter any of the conditions and schedules herein.

Restrictions: If the Championship course is declared unplayable and as a result it is not possible to complete the 54 holes of play in the period in which the Championship is scheduled, the Championship will not be extended beyond the last scheduled day and the winner shall be the individual who returns the lowest score for the number of stipulated rounds played. The Committee may institute a cut in order to play the last stipulated round.

Withdrawal/Refund Policy
Competitors who have submitted an entry for an NEGA event and wish to withdraw for any reason must notify the NEGA via e-mail or phone. Refunds for qualifiers and/or Championships are based on the refund policy and timeline listed below. 
7+ Days prior to the Championship - Full Refund less $20 Admin Fee
2 - 6 Days prior to the Championship - 50% Refund
0-1 Days prior to the Championship - No Refund
